Needle Work
Family Heirloom - What we call it when it's masterfully wrought by loving hands providing an instant connection between members of a family through each generation.

I really dislike windy days that make your skirt blow up over your head. It blocks your view and enables the public's. Women have tried a lot of possible solutions from tying fishing weights into their hems to attaching elastic strings from skirt seams to boot loops.
But, I think this pattern in Terry Taylor's book The New Crochet: 40 Wonderful Wearables might just do the trick very nicely. It looks to me like this pretty crocheted wrap could tame a wild hem. You could wrap this Bohemian beauty around your skirt before you go out to meet the mighty Hawk.
And if the wind is not blowing out your way this is still a chic addition to any wardrobe.
